About The Well·Spring Group
The Well-Spring Group is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide aging-adult services which create an experience that exceeds the needs of an evolving and diverse population of older adults. The Well-Spring Group is the parent company of Well-Spring Solutions, Well-Spring, A Life Plan Community, and PACE of the Triad.
Stephen P. Fleming, President/CEO
As President/CEO of The Well-Spring Group, I am amazed at the work of our Executive Directors and the organizations they lead in order to serve a diverse and growing population of older adults. Collectively, we are making a difference in the lives of older adults and their caregivers. I have witnessed first-hand how our nation, state and county’s fragmented system of caring for older adults makes life challenging for both the older adults we pledge to serve and their caregivers. My wife has assisted her parents since a stroke left my father-in-law paralyzed. Through her eyes I have seen how a lack of coordinated services for older adults, especially middle-class older adults, contributed to the stress and worry of caregivers. The Well-Spring Group has assembled a bevy of offerings that create a virtual continuum of care for older adults in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina regardless of where they reside. This one-call-does-it-all arrangement would certainly have made life easier not only for my wife and her parents, but for thousands of others. As you can see through the work of our affiliates, we are making great strides. The future looks even stronger as we explore a full roll-out of a new nutrition service in the near future.

Our many services beyond our Life Plan Community were developed to meet the needs and demands of a population that is set to grow exponentially over the
next decade. Many in the coming age cohort will not have the financial resources to move into a continuing care retirement community like our flagship operation, yet they have enough resources that they do not qualify for Medicaid, the public assistance program that has morphed into our nation’s caretaker of older adults. In addition, this middle class often does not qualify for local assistance. It is this segment of our older adult population that is often over-looked and yes, under-served.
I am proud we are making a difference. Our leaders are some of the best, brightest and highest credentialed. They exude a level of enthusiasm and dedication to task that permeates the organizations they lead. Our leaders are supported by outstanding Boards of Trustees who take seriously their fiduciary responsibilities while keeping an eye toward the future. This undoubtedly is proving a for success. I just need to make sure I don’t get in their way as together we continue to blaze a trail for aging services in the Piedmont Triad.
