Three Well•Spring team members honored by LeadingAge North Carolina

PINEHURST, N.C. – Three members associated with The Well•Spring Group have been recognized by LeadingAge North Carolina, the statewide member of the national LeadingAge organization dedicated to expanding the world of possibilities for older adults. The awards were presented May 17 at LeadingAge North Carolina’s annual meeting in Pinehurst.

Barbara Adams, director of Resident and Community Relations and the first employee hired by Well•Spring, A Life Plan Community when it was established in 1987, was honored for Service Excellence. LeadingAge noted Adams’ “outstanding leadership, commitment, loyalty and customer service to residents and their families. … Through her individual example, mentoring of co-workers, development of customer service programs and instruction of staff, Barbara has been – and continues to be – a champion of customer service.”

Upon completion of her 30^th year of service this December, Adams is retiring.

“Barbara has been an invaluable asset to our community since before we opened our doors,” said Alan Tutterow, executive director of Well•Spring, A Life Plan Community. “And because of her contributions, our residents have always benefited from the highest levels of customer service. Barbara’s recognition is well-deserved, and all of us congratulate her and thank her.”

Two associates with PACE of the Triad, of which The Well•Spring Group is a partner, were recognized, as well.

Janet Pennell, MSW, LCSW, medical social worker, was recognized for Service Excellence. “Janet is the epitome of a strategically focused social worker who sees the big picture. She meticulously balances person-centered care within complex family dynamics by incorporating individual, as well as inclusive processes, yet never fails to focus on targeted goals and outcomes,” said Dr. Robert Koehler, medical director of PACE of the Triad.

Lucillia Davis-Durning, Human Resources coordinator, was named an Emerging Leader. “Lucillia has significantly impacted the family friendly culture of PACE of the Triad by role modeling compassion, approachability, knowledge and enthusiasm for the mission,” said Ursula Robinson, executive director. “She is highly trusted, fair and prides herself in being an advocate for our employees and the organization.”

“All of at PACE of the Triad are so proud of Janet and Lucillia for their very worthy recognition,” Robinson added. “On behalf of our organization, our participants and their families, I thank them both for their hard work and dedication.”
